Xenoestrogens Are Active at Miniscule Amounts
by Eckhart, MD
Xenoestrogens may be translated as foreign estrogens. "Xeno" translates as foreign, and "estrogen" translates as the hormone estrogen. Xenoestrogens can also be called hormone disrupters, environmental estrogens, phytoestrogens (plant estrogens), or chemical estrogens. Xenoestrogens can be chemically synthesized. Atrazine, a common weed killer, causes hermaphrodite frogs. A natural organic herb like lavender causes "man boobs" in young boys.
My patients have complained that miniscule amounts of lemon grass in their deodorant made them have Premenstrual Syndrome. They have even complained that mascara alone made their breasts tender and gave them bloating just before their period.
Fear, stress, or anxiety can increase histamine and interleukin-6 levels and decrease the body's ability to excrete chemicals including xenoestrogens. My favorite question is to ask whether or not coffee keeps you awake through the night. If coffee does, this is saying that you have difficulty excreting caffeine, and you likely have difficulty excreting all chemicals (including xenoestrogens). Thus, women struggling with fear, stress, or anxiety are more likely to suffer from more severe forms of endometriosis, breast cysts, uterine fibroids, premenstrual syndrome, adenomyosis, and ovarian cysts.
Fear Impairs Excretion of Xenoestrogens.
List of Chemicals and Herbs to Topically Avoid
Lotions, shampoos, deodorant put on the skin has TEN TIMES the POTENCY of your diet for these diseases. For these diseases, diet doesn't matter much compared to what is put on the skin. Progesterone cream / oil can help to balance out small loads of xenoestrogens. However, if large loads of xenoestrogens are topically put on the skin, progesterone cream may make you worse temporarily.
