Progesterone Cream Side Effects

Progesterone Cream Safety

by Eckhart, MD

Progesterone cream side effects are listed. In 30-40% of patients, if they do NOT get rid of xenoestrogens in their environment, then they will get temporary side effects such as worsening of symptoms. Temporarily, if they do not eliminate xenoestrogens, migraine headaches will get worse, bloating will get worse, and breast tenderness will get worse.

The solution is to get rid of xenoestrogens, wait 1-2 months for them to wash out of the body, and THEN take progesterone cream. This will eliminate bad progesterone side effects.

Progesterone is the hormone of pregnancy. "Pro" means for. "Gesterone" means gestation. So "progesterone" means "for gestation". Progesterone is routinely used by fertility MDs to prevent miscarriage. Thus, progesterone is relatively a safe drug. The only danger of using progesterone to prevent miscarriage is that you cannot suddenly stop using progesterone. If you suddenly stop using progesterone, the dropping progesterone levels will trigger a miscarriage. Thus, do NOT stop using progesterone during pregnancy suddenly. Progesterone cream used to prevent miscarriage is usually slowly tapered off after 3 months. Sometimes progesterone cream can be used throughout the entire pregnancy, if the patient has developed antibodies against progesterone. Progesterone can also be used to prevent premature delivery as well.
